Biography
Daniele Tirinnanzi was born in Florence, Italy on the 27th of February 1979. Since he was a child he has always expressed interest and passion for art. His early drawings, at the age of 3, crudely depicted his cats and dog. He drew a picture of one of his cats on a dirty piece of paper. His mother was so impressed by this drawing that she stuck it on a wall at a safe height where it stood for almost 20 years until it literally fell apart. She always believed in his artistic capabilities far more than he did. At the age of four he learnt to read, so his parents sent him to primary school one year early. At the age of 11 he bought "The making of Micheal Jackson's Thriller" on VHS and was deeply inspired by Rick Baker's work. That's when he started to realize he wanted a future in special make-up effects, and started doing very primitive blood effects on his little sister. In 1992 he visited relatives in Los Angeles and put his hands on a copy of Tom Savini's "Grande Illusions" book. He was truly amazed, he bought a few materials in a make-up store and really started messing up his bedroom when he got home. In the same year he enrolled at the Institute of Art of Florence where he followed sculpture, advertising, photography and theatrical scenery classes for six years. In those years he continued experimenting in his bedroom learning all he could about make-up effects by himself and practicing a lot. In 1999 he contacts Dick Smith, from whom he learns a lot thanks to his course, the greatest source of information on special make-up techniques in the world, In 1999 he followed the special make-up effects course at Make-up Designory school in Los Angeles, which really helped him in refining the techniques he had been practicing at home. When he returned to Italy he was hired by I.M.A. Italian Magic Artists Sfx Studios, where he's currently working as a sculptor, mold-maker, painter, lab technician and make-up artist.
